If you’re planning to write a novel during this year’s National Novel Writing Month, you can announce it now.

Choose a genre, share an outline or summary, connect a Pinterest board or music playlist, join a region to find virtual events, find support and resources in the forums, get the Nano Prep workbook.

Themed weekly resources, events and discussions begin on Sept. 14. Every year, there are also exclusive deals on writing software, publishing resources, and writing communities.

NaNoWriMo is also looking for writers for its blog. Sign up here if you are interested in being considered as a contributor.

About NaNoWriMo

For more than 20 years, every November, hundreds of thousands of writers come together with the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel in one month.

Last year, more than half a million writers participated.

Hundreds of the novels written as part of this project have even been traditionally published, including Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, Wool by Hugh Howey, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, The Darwin Elevator by Jason Hough, and Cinder by Marissa Meyer.

Each year, participants also get mentorships from top authors. Past author mentors have included Gene Luen Yang, Roxane Gay, Kacen Callender, John Green, Andy Weir, N. K. Jemisin, and Veronica Roth.

MetaStellar editor and publisher Maria Korolov is a science fiction novelist, writing stories set in a future virtual world.
